New Employees’ Representatives Act adopted

New Employees’ Representatives Act came into force on 1 February 2007. By the Act, Directive 2002/14/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 March 2002 establishing a general framework for informing and consulting employees in the European Community (Joint declaration of the European Parliament, the Council and the Commission on employee representation), has been implemented. Among others, the Act also regulates that an employer that employs at least 30 employees is obliged to implement the information and consultation rules established in the Act including also employer’s obligation to inform and consult the employees about major structural changes in the company.
