Business Law Training Course for Police Officers Conducted by Tark & Co

Piret Jesse, Senior Associate with Tark & Co, conducted a training course on business law for economic police officers at the premises of the Estonian Police Board on 18 September 2009.

Mrs Jesse introduced the basic principles of business law to the attending police officers. The course covered the following topics among others: company’s directing bodies, their term of authority, obligations and liability; procuration; insolvency and its causes, and duties of directing bodies in the case of a company’s insolvency or a reduction in net assets; registration of shares, restrictions on acquisition of own shares and taking own shares as security, prohibited loans and prohibition on business.

The police officers participating in the course gained additional theoretical knowledge on business law and were given practical examples and advice on matters they have dealt with in their work.
