Vilius Bernatonis co-opted on to the Committee of the European Branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators

Vilius Bernatonis, partner at TARK GRUNTE SUTKIENE, was co-opted on to the Committee of the European Branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) in a committee meeting in Paris on April 9, 2011.

Along with congratulations, Mr. Stuart Ness, head of European branch of CIArb, expressed his gratitude to Mr. Bernatonis for the active support given to the arbitration community in the Baltic Region, the last case being the seminar in international commercial arbitration, organised in Vilnius this March.

This formal acknowledgement also underlines the successful lodgement of commercial arbitration as a method of regulation of business conflicts in the Baltics.

The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) is one of the world’s leading centres of excellence for the development of arbitration, mediation and other forms of dispute resolution at all levels. The Institute was founded in 1915 and now has over 12,000 members in more than 100 countries and it is a not-for-profit charity, which works in the public interest through its international network of more than 30 Branches and Chapters.
