Grunte & Cers lawyers participated in seminar on the Cross-border litigation

Grunte & Cers associates – Ivars Grunte, Andis Paunins and Nauris Grigals – participated in an internal seminar on the Cross-border litigation in the Baltics context organized by TLS Alliance.

Associates of TLS Alliance made short presentation of the court system and procedural norms of each country, but most attention was paid to the regulation of court proceedings with a foreign element in each country. Lengthy discussions were devoted to recognition and enforcement of foreign judgements and arbitral awards, as well as related legal and practical issues.

The associates recoginsed the seminar helpful, since as a result of exchange of views and experience findings have been made, which need be taken into account when planning strategy for court proceedings with a foreign element in the Baltic states.
