Tark & Co attorneys Toomas Taube and Kaia Läänemets participated in a seminar on cross-border litigation

Tark & Co partner Toomas Taube and associate Kaia Läänemets participated in the pan-Baltic seminar on the Cross-border litigation in the Baltics context organized by TLS Alliance, held in Vilnius.

Associates of TLS Alliance member firms from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Belarus made presentations on the court system and civil procedure of each country, but most attention was paid to the regulation of court proceedings with a foreign element. Lengthy discussions were devoted to recognition and enforcement of foreign judgements and arbitral awards as well as to related legal and practical issues.

The participants recognised the seminar helpful, since as a result of exchange of views and experience conclusions were made which need to be taken into account when planning a strategy for court proceedings with a foreign element in the Baltic states and Belarus.
